Way of Faith Assembly of God, founded and led by Rev. Ellen Blackwell for forty years, is now served by Rev. Bill Parkinson, our former Associate Pastor. Way of Faith conducts worship and prayer services for all who seek to be a part of a Biblically conservative, Bible-based, charismatic, evangelistic body of believers. We are committed to growing in the knowledge and service of God, His Word, His will, and the Great Commission to be fishers of men through individual and group evangelism and the sponsoring of home and foreign mission workers. The congregation gathers for worship and the Word of God Sunday mornings and evenings, and for Wednesday evening mid-week Bible study and prayer services. Friday nights come alive with a spiritually rich rally of youth and young professionals following a wonderful evening dinner. Live Spanish translation is provided for Sunday morning services, and there is a Spanish mid-week Bible study as well.
Volunteers from the congregation regularly participate in such missionary assistance programs as the construction of churches, Bible colleges, seminaries, and orphanages in countries as varied as Hungary, Israel, Jamaica, and Mexico. The church provides spiritual direction for those carrying out the above activities, for the personnel of Way of Faith Christian Training Center, and for the leaders and participants in a variety of programs geared to the social, spiritual, character formation, and fellowship needs of individuals.
Over the years volunteers from the congregation have pursued chaplaincy training or other training as appropriate for the conduct of institutional ministries to hospital and nursing home patients, and to prison inmates.
The Royal Ranger and the Missionette programs (akin to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts but with a strong spiritual component) serve not only youth from the congregation, but youth in the community drawn to these programs.
It is our desire that every family and every individual in our church enjoy the blessing of serving others and thereby know the joy of fellowship with Jesus as a loving hand extended to a needy world.
