Rev. Bill Parkinson
Pastor Bill’s ministry began at Way of Faith Fellowship in 1971 under the ministry of Rev. Ellen Blackwell. Coming from a background in music as a soloist in the United States Army Band, Bill moved into the D.C. area from his home state of Iowa in 1969, and here he met His Saviour, Jesus Christ. The call of missions grabbed Bill’s heart from his earliest days as an Assistant Pastor and later as the Associate Pastor at Way of Faith. Bill pastored an outreach church in Manassas, Virginia for over 4 years, and has also led mission trips in the USA and foreign lands over 50 times. Along with his wife, Patty, the Parkinsons have four children and countless “sons and daughters” among the flock of Way of Faith Assembly of God.
Children’s Ministries and Sunday School Coordinator
Patty came from southwestern Pennsylvania to Virginia in the fall of 1975 to be a teacher at a new Christian School, Way of Faith Academy. Patty received Jesus in her home church in Pennsylvania as a young person. She married Pastor Bill in 1978 and has worked beside him at our Manassas outreach and on some of our missions trips. She currently coordinates the Children’s Ministries, which include Sunday School, Pre-School Children’s Church, Elementary-age Children’s Church and Girls Ministries on Wednesday nights. She also serves as cook for the Friday night meeting and works together with Mrs. Joanne Ledwidge in the Women’s Ministries Department.
Our goal is to provide opportunities for young people to grow in their relationship with Christ through worship, fellowship, bible studies, adventure, and outreach. We are all about inspiring young people to realize their full potential in Christ and to help them move towards maturity as they grow into college students and adults.
Lay Minister (Music, Media, Property Services)
Jim and his wife Wendy have been ministers of music over the years and help coordinate a growing team of worship leaders, singers, and musicians. Along with this, Jim helps to coordinate the schedules and logistics for many of the services and programs of Way of Faith, always keeping in mind the scripture which says, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Gal.6:2)
